Mounts Botanical Garden to Benefit from 5% Community Giving Day at Whole Foods Market / Wellington – September 19

(West Palm Beach, FL – September 12, 2012) Mounts Botanical Garden, the go to source for gardening information in South Florida, has been selected by Whole Foods Market / Wellington to benefit from the store’s next 5% Community Giving Day.

On Wednesday, September 19, from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., customers at Whole Foods Market / Wellington are urged to “shop for a cause!” The popular retailer is donating 5% of the day’s net sales to Mounts Botanical Garden.

Located at 2635 State Road 7, Whole Foods Market / Wellington will feature information about Mounts Botanical Garden at a special table at the front of the store. In addition, the first 200 customers who stop by the Mounts table will receive a free copy of the Garden’s glossy, full-color magazine The Leaflet, which is filled with valuable information about gardening in South Florida.

“At Whole Foods Market, we are active participants in our community.  We are extremely proud of our community involvement and the relationships we continue to make each quarter.  We strive to make a difference,” said Lauren Belinsky, the store’s Marketing Team Leader.

“Our Community 5% Days are one meaningful way we give back to our community.  On designated days throughout the year, a total of 5% of the day’s net sales are donated to local non-profit organizations.  Guests help support selected organizations just by shopping on those 5% Days,” she added.

Allen Sistrunk, Garden Director at Mounts Botanical Garden, praised Whole Foods Market / Wellington for its “generous and ongoing support,” which started with the retailer’s support of the Garden’s Tropical Fruit Festival last June.
