St. Peters United Methodist church in Wellington, Florida was groovin to the incredible music of famed jazz pianist Copeland Davis Saturday night (September 14th.) It was a fun, musical night with the always versatile Copeland Davis playing everything from jazz, contemporary and classic tunes which the crowd thoroughly enjoyed. His band consisted of drummer Bill Alexander, keyboardist Richard Chisholm, bass player Beau Bonaparte and guitarist Jeff Chafin. Together they were all energetic and kept the crowd smiling, moving to the rhythm, clapping their hands and tapping their toes. The evenings performance was a benefit show to help raise money for Davis who does not have health insurance and needs assistance with medical expenses for an upcoming eye surgery.
states, As a child of seven, Copeland’s fascination with music began while watching a pianist on TV. He blocked out everything that was going on except that pianist. He remembers thinking that if someone could only show me, I could learn to do that. Thus began his education with the piano. Since that time he has made his mark in music having been featured on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson and Good Morning America. He has played at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. Davis performed in many venues in Nevada, New Jersey and the Caribbean such as the Stardust Hotel & Casino; MGM Resorts International; Holiday International Hotel & Casino; Harrahs Marina Hotel & Casino; Bally Park Place Hotel & Casino, Americana Hotel & Casino and the Caribbean Hotel & Casino. Here in South Florida Davis has played at the Burt Reynolds Backstage Restaurant & Club plus the Boca Raton Hotel & Club. In Palm Beach, hes performed at the Breakers, La Familia Restaurant and Brique Ballon.
Davis is also a renowned Arranger and Conductor having worked with The Fifth Dimension musical group, Barbara McNair, Florida Sunshine Pops Orchestra, Space Coast Pops Orchestra, Indian River Pops Orchestra and Boca Pops Orchestra.
