Summer in Paradise Returns to the West Palm Beach Waterfront

City celebrates season with FREE concerts, movies, fireworks, and more!

WEST PALM BEACH, FLA (June 2, 2022) – The City of West Palm Beach welcomes residents and visitors to have a “SIP,” a “Summer in Paradise,” beginning Wednesday, June 1, 2022 through Wednesday, August 31, 2022. The multi-month campaign includes free concerts, movies, fireworks and more for the whole family to enjoy.

In addition to the special events, the Great Lawn (100 Clematis Street) will also feature several pop-up photo opportunities. The three-dimensional, one-of-a-kind backdrops will include a fun, social media promotion, where winners will be selected to win goodies and gift cards from local merchants. 

“We are excited to host Summer in Paradise events in West Palm Beach, once again, ” Mayor Keith A. James. “We hope to see you soon, whether it is for a concert, movie on the lawn, or our annual and much-anticipated return of 4th on Flagler.”

“Summer in Paradise is all about enjoying our many events on the waterfront,” said Mary Pinak, community events manager for the City of West Palm Beach. “With kids out of school, and the sun shining into the evening, the Great Lawn is the perfect place to relax and make memories. We hope to see everyone there!”

The most anticipated event of the summer is 4th on Flagler, the city’s annual Fourth of July celebration. The event is South Florida’s largest, free outdoor Independence Day celebration, featuring an 18-minute fireworks show over the Intracoastal Waterway. The event is on the Waterfront from 6 – 10 p.m. (along Flagler Drive between Banyan Boulevard and Fern Street). Activities will include live entertainment with Reverend Barry and the Funk on the NewDay USA stage, two DJs, the Bill Bone 5K, Palm Beach Health Network’s Family Chill Zone featuring a hands-on kids’ area, Military Honor Salute, and refreshments for purchase. Fireworks are scheduled to ignite around 9 p.m., weather permitting.

Established in 2002 and hailing from South Florida, Riverdown is an explosive and versatile live cover rock band. Each Riverdown show is fresh and full of surprises. From “Seven Bridges Road” to “Highway to Hell,” this will surely be a rock ‘n’ roll ride.

From Cajun to zydeco to blues to rock and everything in between, Big Al & the Heavyweights offer a musical gumbo sure to please all! Formed in 1996 as the Unknown Blues Band, this New Orleans group has been featured at festivals and venues throughout the U.S. and will now be coming to the West Palm Beach Waterfront to deliver a family-friendly, energetic performance. 

June 30: Marijah & The Reggae Allstars 

Marijah is a multi-talented singer, songwriter, and percussionist whose dynamic performance is energizing, passionate, and soul-stirring! Singing since the age of five and drumming since her late teens, she is equally gifted in both arenas. Marijah’s versatility enables her to fit in with any group of musicians performing everything from reggae to R&B, jazz, and African music. Get ready to get funky and get the party started with this talented group!

As a middle schooler, Emily Elizabeth struggles to fit in until she discovers, from a magical animal rescuer, a small red puppy destined to become her best friend. When Clifford becomes a gigantic red dog in her New York City apartment, attracting the attention of a genetics company who wish to supersize animals, Emily and her clueless Uncle Casey have to fight the forces of greed as they go on the run across New York City and take a bite out of the Big Apple. Based on the beloved Scholastic character, Clifford will teach the world how to love big.

Juju’s Feel Good Foods’ food truck will be on-site during this installment of Screen on the Green. Enjoy delicious ice cream cones, Oreo mousse cake, sundaes, red velvet cake, and more!

Outdoor movie watching has never been more inviting than on the West Palm Beach Waterfront. Motown and More is one of the hottest Motown tributes in town. This dynamic group of musicians and vocalists has opened for many celebrities and is popping up everywhere on the local scene. Let this talented group of musicians show you what the magic of Motown is all about!

Refreshments will be available for purchase from Krazy Cuban Flavor and Uncle Louie G Italian Ices!

July 14: Sierra Lane (Pop/R&B)

Sierra Lane is a Jupiter, FL born and raised artist. She spent years carefully crafting her sound and honing her songwriting skills, which can be best described as “Reggae-inspired indie.” Sierra Lane plays shows around the South Florida scene, accompanied by her band, who has helped guide her with their years of experience. In addition to original songs, they play a wide range of unique cover songs providing something for everyone! 

July 21: Quick Fix Radio (Pop/Rock) 

Quick Fix Band is more than just your typical five-piece band from South Florida. Fronted by a phenomenal female lead singer, some consider them the best female artist cover band in the country. Seductive vocals with occasional sax have been the band’s hook since their beginnings. Quick Fix performs a wide variety of genres, from pop, rock, and soul, to R&B.

July 28: PRATO (Reggae/Rock) 

PRATO is a reggae/rock band based out of South Florida. PRATO, which stands for Pure Riddim Attack Taking Over, is a multilanguage band with a fun, upbeat style, featuring cool, positive, and, sometimes, sarcastic lyrics. The band blends a heavy tone of reggae and rock with jazzy/funky keyboards and horns. PRATO plays originals and covers by Sublime, Bob Marley, Slightly Stoopid, UB40, Rebelution, Dirty Heads, and many more.

July 8: Raya and the Last Dragon. 7 – 10 p.m.

Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Raya and the Last Dragon travels to the fantasy world of Kumandra, where humans and dragons lived together in harmony long ago. When an evil force threatened the land, the dragons sacrificed themselves to save humanity. Now, 500 years later, that same evil has returned, and it’s up to a lone warrior, Raya, to track down the legendary last dragon to restore the fractured land and its divided people. Along her journey, she’ll learn that it’ll take more than a dragon to save the world – it’s going to take trust and teamwork.

Tribute to Bob Marley (Reggae) 

This amazing tribute to the one-and-only Bob Marley features Yvad, former lead singer of The Wailers band and solo artist. Hear the hits and songs of this legendary Reggae artist like No Woman No CryThree Little BirdsBuffalo SoldierRedemption Song, and many more!

Yvad himself has had three major hit songs on the Jamaica Music Awards and was featured on the cover of Billboard magazine. His song ‘We Need Love’ won best produced single in Jamaica’s top nominated Reggae songs, garnering international attention.

August 4: On the Roxx (’80s Tribute)

On the Roxx will rock you! Rock, pop, oldies, Motown, disco, dance, and the band’s ’80s tribute will get concertgoers footloose on the dance door! On the Roxx has rocked cruise ships, theatres, and major corporate events all over Florida. The band features bandleader and lead singer Diane DeNoble, who has performed on Broadway, Las Vegas, Atlantic City, Bali, and cruise ships worldwide.

The Samantha Russell Band

August 11: The Samantha Russell Band (Country) 

The moment Clematis by Night guests hear the Samantha Russell Band, they will know they are in for a great evening of some of the best country music. Voted the No. 1 top live country band in South Florida, the band performs original songs, occasional current pop tunes, and covers hits from many of today’s top country music stars and rock artists. Samantha’s influences include Miranda Lambert, Reba, Jo Dee Messina, Patsy Cline, and Shania Twain. Coupled with her own unique vocal style, the Samantha Russell Band will surely attract more than one new fan.

August 18: The Holidazed (Reggae/Rock) 

With very diverse styles, The Holidazed’s reggae/rock/funk band will create a great ambiance and make the audience feel carried away – just like they are on holiday! The band creates progressive, heart-pounding music with modern technological inspiration. Their live show on the Great Lawn will help guests relax, and in the famous words of Marley, “don’t worry.”

August 25: CoverUp (Rock) 

South Florida-based band, CoverUp, performs a setlist of upbeat songs from hard rock and punk to ’80s hair bands and everything in between. The band, led by singer Larry Demers, is known for its high energy and interactive shows. Their extraordinary energy will keep the audience dancing and singing all night long.

In one of Paris’s finest restaurants, Remy, a determined young rat, dreams of becoming a renowned French chef. Torn between his family’s wishes and his true calling, Remy and his pal Linguini set in motion a hilarious chain of events that turns the City of Lights upside down.

The Noctámbulo Band (Salsa meets Latin jazz)

Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month at Sunday on the Waterfront! The Noctámbulo Band is a 7-piece high-energy band of talented, creative musicians from Cuba, Colombia, and Puerto Rico. Performing at the crossroads where salsa meets Latin jazz, the band performs throughout South Florida and beyond, playing classics from the ’70s, ’80s, ’90s, and today. Frontman Luis Manuel, a unique and versatile sonero, will keep the crowd up and dancing all night long with his magical sound.
