The Royal Poinciana Plaza Introduces Property-Wide Sustainability Efforts

PALM BEACH – (April 22nd, 2020)– As we celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Earth Day today, The Royal Poinciana Plaza, the iconic Palm Beach lifestyle destination, announces an initiative toward becoming a more environmentally responsible property. The Royal Poinciana will launch a new recycling program, including additional trash and recycling containers, and will be working with eco-friendly vendors, including a new pest control company. The property is also actively working with local community organizations to further this effort by supporting the Town of Palm Beach’s plastic straw and stirrers ban partnering with local environmental organizations including Loggerhead Marinelife Center.

The Royal Poinciana Plaza

“The Royal Poinciana Plaza is nestled in one of the most desired locations on the island of Palm Beach.  Kissed by both the Atlantic Ocean and the Intracoastal Waterway, The Royal also celebrates the fact that its backyard, the Island’s beaches are some of the most important sea turtle nesting grounds on our planet,” said Jack Lighton, CEO Loggerhead Marinelife Center. “Water, lush foliage, and balmy breezes are a big part of the Plaza’s ethos. From calming bubbling fountains to the stunning sunsets and vistas afforded by the Intracoastal Waterway, The Royal Poinciana Plaza is committed to giving back to the community in many ways including support of numerous conservation and sustainability initiatives.”

“As a waterfront community, sustainability is essential, and we knew our tenants would be as passionate as we are” says The Royal Poinciana Plaza Interim General Manager and Senior Director of Development Alexandra Patterson. “From numerous tenants participating on their own, property-wide recycling measures, to organic-only vendors including pest control and landscaping, to ensuring that our green space is eco-friendly for generations to enjoy, we’re completely committed to doing our part and couldn’t be more excited to have so many of our businesses participate in this effort.”

The Royal Poinciana Plaza’s tenants also shared their individual eco-friendly initiatives, some relating to COVID-19 efforts, including but not limited to, the below. Due to the current climate, many of The Royal Poinciana Plaza’s retailers are temporarily closed, have moved to modified hours, or are offering remote-only options, but The Royal Poinciana Plaza is thrilled to share this new initiative so that their clientele can benefit from their sustainability efforts while supporting their favorites remotely.
