Wellington Man Threatens to Call Police on 15-Year-Old Breonna Nelson-Hicks in Front of Her Own Home
Wellington, FL has made national news again this past week (and not in a good way). This man, identified as Lee Jeffers from the Isles in Wellington, followed teenagers into the Grande Isles (across the street), racially harassing 15-year-old Breonna Nelson-Hicks in particular. “You don’t belong here,” he told her, right in front of her grandfather’s home. Jeffers works for Homeland Security and has been put on administrative leave since the incident. On June 22, 2020, a car parade to show love and appreciation for Breonna was held in the Grande Isles, where participants handed off roses to Breonna. Read more about the incident.
