Wellington, FL – (December 14, 2017) – Two-time U.S. Pan American Bronze medalist Todd Minikus, returned home after successful show season competing across the United States, just in time for a Colorado film crew to catch up with the prolific show jumper in Wellington for the filming of an upcoming Purina documentary. The documentary, “Purina: Stories of Greatness” follows Minikus’ rise from humble beginnings to becoming a major contender in the international show jumping arena. With over 130 national and International Grand Prix career wins to Minikus’ name and being consistently ranked in the top three lifetime earners in the sport of show jumping by the United States Hunter Jumper Association (USHJA) the production will document MInikus’ career and contributions to the sport of show jumping as a competitor, trainer and mentor.
The crew got up at daybreak to capture a typical day in the life of Minikus while at home in Wellington. Producer Matt Coddaire and Director of Photography, Tucker Neary filmed Minikus, as he rousted his two children, Colt and Langley out of bed, cooked them breakfast and helped wife Amanda get them ready for school. Next the cameramen met up with Minikus at the barn to get footage of his daily routine, from schooling young jumpers over fences and training students, to dragging the ring at the end of the day. Day two of filming in Wellington, the crew trailed Minikus over to the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center for the Holiday and Horses CSI 4* to catch Minikus in action at a competition. The exact release date of the production has not been determined yet but should make its screen debut in 2018.
