West Palm Beach GreenMarket Receives Third Nomination for “Best Farmers Market”

In honor of recognition, the City to host three pop-up mini-markets at Clematis by Night in June

WEST PALM BEACH, FL — The West Palm Beach Green Market has again been nominated as a USA TODAY 10 Best “Best Farmers Market”. The publication’s Readers’ Choice poll is a nationwide contest to determine the 10 best markets in the country. The City of West Palm Beach’s market has taken the top prize for the last two consecutive years. Fans and friends of the GreenMarket can vote once daily through Monday, July 3, 2023, at 11:59 p.m. EDT.

In celebration of the recognition, the City will host three pop-up mini-markets at Clematis by Night in June – Thursday, June 15, 2023, Thursday, June 22, 2023, and Thursday, June 29, 2023. The markets will run from 6 – 9 p.m. during the weekly live music series and include a variety of favorites and new vendors. The participating vendors will be listed on the Clematis by Night webpage.

“The West Palm Beach GreenMarket is the best farmers market in the United States,” said West Palm Beach Mayor Keith A. James. “Each year, our market continues to grow and branch out, both in its physical footprint and variety of offerings. Additionally, it capitalizes on the beauty of our waterfront views as it steps away from the Intracoastal. With the help of our community and partners, I am confident that we can win again.”

A USA TODAY 10 Best panel of food and travel experts determined their top 20 farmers markets, and now the public will select the top 10 winners. The final rankings will be announced on July 14, 2023. USA TODAY 10 Best Readers’ Choice awards highlight the best of the best in contests covering categories such as destinations, food and drink, hotels, and things to do.

“We are excited to be once again nominated as the ‘Best Farmers Market’ in the U.S.,” said Mary Pinak, community events manager for the City of West Palm Beach. “In celebration of this incredible recognition, we are hosting three mini-markets so fans and friends of the GreenMarket can sample what’s to come next season. Be sure to come out each week to see returning favorites and a peek at who’s new for the 2023 – 2024 season.”

The West Palm Beach GreenMarket wrapped its 28th season in April, marking its largest yet with more than 110 vendors. It expanded its physical footprint to the 200 block of Clematis Street to accommodate the growth. The seasonal market’s mission is to provide the community with seasonal access to locally grown fresh fruits, fresh vegetables, plants, and agricultural products. The Market supports the southeast Florida agricultural community and stimulates agricultural development, particularly in Palm Beach County, by providing an outlet for locally grown crops and specialty products. The West Palm Beach GreenMarket has been featured in The Boston Globe and named the number one green market in Florida by Cooking Light magazine.
