The votes are in and the winner of AroundWellington.com’s “Best Burger of the Palm Beaches” is: Foster’s Grille, Home of the Charburger. I couldn’t agree more with our voters. I have made the pilgrimage to Royal Palm Beach for one of their perfectly cooked burgers quite often.
Foster’s is a friendly restaurant tucked into the Southern Palms Crossing Shopping Center in Royal Palm Beach. When you enter, you are handed an order sheet where you can customize your burger experience any way you want with endless toppings. The burgers, any way you crave them, are mouthwatering. You can circle your burger toppings (Mayo, ketchup, mustard, lettuce, tomato, etc.), choose your cheese (American, cheddar, provolone, pepper jack, Swiss, etc.) and add on even more (hot sauce, BBQ sauce, grilled onions, bacon, chili, mushrooms).
They have a knack for getting an incredible char on the outside of the
burger and keeping the interior moist and juicy. Their fries are also notable – fresh cut and fried to perfection. You can also substitute their hand-cut fries for onion rings, a side salad or a fruit cup, but this is not recommended for first-timers. In other words, you must try their home-made, perfectly-done fries.
Other options from the menu include wings (just 70 cents per wing from 4pm to 7pm), a Philly Cheesesteak, a grilled hot dog, turkey sandwich, garden burger, turkey burger and extra thick milkshakes.
Every time I go in, I notice how quiet, yet busy the place is. I realized that everyone was enjoying their meal too much to talk. Their classic ½ pound charburger is hard to finish in one sitting, but you will want to. One of their slogans, as you’ll see throughout the restaurant, is “Too Big for Two Hands.” For those who cannot handle the size of their Olde Fashioned Charburger, they can order a smaller burger off of the Kid’s Menu – the Lil’ Charburger.
Folks, we are very lucky to have a Foster’s here in Palm Beach County, as there are only two other Foster’s Grille locations in Florida – in Fort Myers and in Cape Coral. There’s something very special about Foster’s, and that’s what our readers have been telling us with their votes over the past month.
Here are a few quotes from you, our readers.
“Foster’s Grille not only has the best burgers in town – they also have the very best fries to go with it.” – Robin
“Foster’s Grille has the best burger in town – the CharBurger is amazing!” – Tiffany
This is a Mecca for the true burger lover. Congrats to Foster’s for winner our Best Burger Contest!
