Fright Nights invites visitors to Behind the Scenes Tour
— Tickets Now On Sale
WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — Most businesses want to do anything but jolt their customers, but with Fright Nights — the South Florida Fair’s annual event — it’s all about the scare. The staff is putting on the finishing touches of Fright Nights, which will be held at the South Florida Fairgrounds, 9067 Southern Blvd., over four weekends: Oct. 9-10, Oct. 15-17, Oct. 22-24; and Oct. 30-31. For those who want to get a first-hand look at what goes on beyond the curtain, they can take a 45-minute tour Behind the Scenes tour on Thurs., Oct. 8, at 6 p.m. Tickets are on sale now online for $10 at www.myfrightnights.com and includes a free opening night ticket, a $15 value.
“This is a chance for visitors to ask questions and see how we make it come to life,” said Craig McInnis, creative director of Fright Nights.
During Fright Nights, the midway of carnival rides opens at 6 p.m. and four haunted houses will open at 7 p.m. Closing time on Thursdays is 11 p.m. and midnight on Fridays and Saturdays.
The 2015 edition of Fright Nights will feature four newly themed and designed haunted houses: Meadow Lakes, Animal Farm, Beyond the Gates and Memento Mori. There also will be three scare zones — The Shack, Baphomet and Sector Four — where unsuspecting guests will be surprised to encounter strange and creepy characters. It’s impossible to avoid the scare zones.
Advance discount tickets are on sale now through Oct. 8 for $20 and covers admission, three of the four haunted houses and unlimited Midway rides. To buy tickets, go to www.myfrightnights.com. Parental discretion is advised for those younger than 12 years old. For an additional $5, patrons may purchase the fourth haunt on either the Midway or at the gate. Gate prices increase by $5 for a total of $25 (or $30 with the additional haunted house).
