KICKOFF RECEPTION HONORS AMERICAN FRIENDS OF THE HEBREW UNIVERSITY
Committee Looks Ahead to Next Month’s Palm Beach Dinner

PALM BEACH, Fla. – Richard and Barbara Rothschild opened their Palm Beach home on December 14th for a reception to kick off American Friends of the Hebrew University’s 2018 Palm Beach Dinner, to be held on January 13, 2018, at The Breakers in Palm Beach.

“We are thankful to Mr. and Mrs. Rothschild for hosting this year’s Palm Beach Dinner kickoff,” said Roberta Bogen, co-chair of the event. “As we get closer to next month’s benefit, we are reminded of the importance of supporting Israel and the Hebrew University. The Rothschilds’ generous support and warm hospitality to us is greatly appreciated tonight, as we look forward to another successful benefit here in Palm Beach this season.”

The 2018 Palm Beach Dinner will honor Israel’s foremost institution of higher learning and research, the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. This year’s event will celebrate AFHU and provide support for the Palm Beach Memory and Cognitive Research Fund.

This year’s dinner chairpersons include Roberta and Stanley Bogen, Lori and Bruce Gendelman, Michelle and Joseph Jacobs, Barbara and Richard Rothschild, Judy and Robert Snyder and Robbi and Bruce Toll.

The 2018 Palm Beach Dinner will be held the evening before AFHU’s Annual Leadership Education Forum (ALEF), which will be presented on Sunday, January 14th at the Four Seasons Resort in Palm Beach, where Middle East affairs, national security, medical breakthroughs and progress in brain science will be the topics discussed. Ambassador Daniel Kurtzer will deliver the keynote address, “Fork in the Road: Challenges Facing Israel and the United States in the Middle East.” Ambassador Kurtzer has served as the past United States Ambassador to Israel and Egypt as well as the former Deputy Assistant Secretary for Near Eastern Affairs.

Forging a meaningful partnership between American Jewry and the people of Israel, American Friends of the Hebrew University helps to ensure the nation’s well-being by nurturing Israel’s greatest asset: the intellectual strength of its people. Today the University has a student body of 23,000, a faculty of more than 900 and attracts students from Israel as well as from 85 countries around the world.
