THE GERSHWINS’

PORGY AND BESS

See what Time Magazine exclaims is, “A don’t miss theatre event! The #1 Broadway musical of the year.” Winner of the 2012 Tony Award® for Best Revival of a Musical, The Gershwins’ PORGY AND BESS is hitting the road in a stunning and stirring new staging, including such legendary songs as “Summertime,” “It Ain’t Necessarily So” and “I Got Plenty of Nothing.” The Gershwins’ PORGY AND BESS features one of Broadway’s most accomplished creative teams, led by Tony-nominated director Diane Paulus (Hair), Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Suzan-Lori Parks (Topdog/Underdog), and two-time Obie Award-winning composer Diedre L. Murray (Running Man), bringing George and Ira Gershwin’s legendary masterwork to the Broadway stage for the first time in more than 35 years.

Praised by the New Yorker as, “A great achievement!” and hailed by the Associated Press as, “a gorgeous version of the Gershwin masterpiece,” the classic story of The Gershwins’ PORGY AND  BESS is set in Charleston’s fabled Catfish Row, where the beautiful Bess struggles to break free from her scandalous past, and the only one who can rescue her is the courageous Porgy. Threatened by her formidable former lover Crown, and the seductive enticements of the colorful troublemaker Sporting Life, Porgy and Bess’ relationship evolves into a deep romance that triumphs as one of theater’s most exhilarating love stories.

February 12-16, 2014

WAR HORSE

A heart-warming tale of loyalty and friendship, and the winner of five 2011 Tony Awards®, WAR HORSE is a show of phenomenal inventiveness that is currently playing to packed houses around the world. At its heart are astonishing life-sized puppets that bring to life breathing, galloping, charging horses strong enough for men to ride.

March 4-9, 2014

SISTER ACT

SISTER ACT is Broadway’s feel-amazing musical comedy smash. The New York Post calls it, “Ridiculously fun,” and audiences are jumping to their feet in total agreement. Featuring original music by 8-time Oscar® winner Alan Menken (Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid, Little Shop of Horrors), SISTER ACT tells the story of Deloris Van Cartier, a wannabe diva whose life takes a surprising turn when she witnesses a crime and the cops hide her in the last place anyone would think to look – a convent.  Under the suspicious watch of Mother Superior, Deloris helps her fellow sisters find their voices as she unexpectedly discovers her own. A sparkling tribute to the universal power of friendship, this delightful show gives theater and music fans reason to rejoice.

April 8-13, 2014

EVITA

Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Tony Award®-winning musical returns at last. Eva Perón used her beauty and charisma to rise meteorically from the slums of Argentina to the presidential mansion as First Lady. Adored by her people as a champion for the poor, she became one of the most powerful women in the world — while her greed, outsized ambition and fragile health made her one of the most tragic. EVITA tells Eva’s passionate and unforgettable true story, and features some of theater’s most beautiful songs, including “Don’t Cry for Me Argentina,” “Another Suitcase in Another Hall” and “High Flying, Adored.”  Don’t miss the stunning new production of EVITA, directed by Michael Grandage and choreographed by Rob Ashford, that Channel 4 New York calls “The Hottest Ticket in Town!”

April 29 – May 4, 2014

MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET

A Tony® award-winning Broadway musical, MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET is inspired by the electrifying true story of the famed recording session where Sam Phillips, the “Father of Rock ‘n’ Roll,” brought together icons Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and Carl Perkins for one unforgettable night.
