WYCLIFFE’S DIRECTOR OF TENNIS MAKES USA PROUD PLAYING IN ITF SENIORS TOURNAMENT

Wellington, FL, March 26, 2015 – Kam Kuchta, Wycliffe Golf & Country Club’s Tennis Director, just returned from representing the USA at the 2015 ITF Young Seniors World Team Championships in Antalya, Turkey. Kam Kuchtawon two matches but came up short with a 3rd loss when playing against #1 seeded Great Britain. The Men’s 45’s Team USA had a great competition with an 8th place finish out of the 18 teams competing. Having red or green clay courts, plays a strong factor in determining the way you play the game. In this tournament, players like Kam had to perform on red clay, which can be much slower, but for Eastern Europeans and South American players like the ones competing, it can be an advantage. At Wycliffe, we have green courts for quicker movement.
A majority of players had been on major tours around the world, but that didn’t deter Pros like Kam Kuchta from playing their absolute best throughout each match. In total, there were about 60 spectators in the stands cheering for the USA, including photographers, massage therapists and other contingencies cheering for USA.
“It was an incredible honor to be selected to represent my country and to be able to play against other top players from around the world. Wearing a jacket with USA on the back, really makes you want to play even harder and be more competitive than ever. This was a big step up in the level of play in competition and overall intensity, but I enjoyed every moment of it” says Kam.
The 2016 ITF Seniors tournament will be held in Umar, Croatia. We’ll know soon enough if Kam is selected again to represent the USA. If he is, not only will the USA be proud, but Wycliffe will support him the entire way.
Since being the Director of Tennis for Wycliffe Golf & Country Club for the past 10 years, Kam Kuchta has won 12 national championships and has been an instrumental leader in developing various tennis programs.
