About the Exhibition:
BraveHeARTS: Training Emerging Artists of United States Veterans, is an annual, multimedia exhibit featuring artwork created at the Armory Art Center by U.S. Veterans, in partnership with the VA Medical Center of West Palm Beach. During the BraveHeARTS sessions, these emerging artists learn to rejuvenate past artistic skills, improve their talents, heal with art, connect with others, and be a part of a creative venue for expression. Most recently, these courses were offered livestream via Zoom.

The diverse visual arts program is designed to promote the rehabilitation of military service veterans, foster self-esteem, nurture talent, and develop new skills. Objectives of the program are to help veterans with being present, improving dexterity, a sense of accomplishment, learn new skills, and re-discover strengths, while increasing use of community resources and community re-entry skills.

BraveHeARTS’ vision is to provide the opportunity for veterans to improve overall health and well-being through active participation in visual arts programs, with co teaching with an Armory Art Center instructor and an art therapist /mental health counselor.
