Maraschino Lemonade Pops

From Stella’s Kitchen

In our house, we have one person who LOVES maraschino cherries and one who hates them!  So we made these pops two ways – the cherry way and the plain lemonade way*.

  • 1 jar of maraschino cherries
Getting the ice pops ready to go into the freezer.
Getting the ice pops ready to go into the freezer.
  • 8 (3-oz) paper cups (little Dixie cups)
  • 16 oz. Lemonade (can be from a mix or your own)
  • 8 popsicle sticks

Drain the cherries, keeping the juice. Place one whole cherry in each paper cup. Coarsely chop remaining cherries. Add chopped cherries, lemonade and remaining maraschino cherry liquid to blender or food processor.  Blend until smooth. Fill paper cups with mixture, almost to the top.

For fun, you can add jokes or facts on your popsicle sticks ahead of time (with a permanent marker).  Insert the popsicle sticks, one in each cup. Secure with Press n Seal plastic wrap, so that the popsicle stick stays straight up. To serve, peel away the paper cup.

*For the plain lemonade pops, just skip all of this maraschino cherry business.  Freeze your lemonade in cups (almost filled to the top).  Insert the popsicle sticks.  These pops are yummy either way!

Yum! One lemonade pop and one cherry-lemonade pop!
