December, 2015- International Polo Club Palm Beach Launches “Lucky 13” High-Goal Polo Season
WELLINGTON, FLA. (December 2015) – The International Polo Club Palm Beach ushers in the “Lucky 13” winter polo season after months of meticulous planning, and more than a bit of luck. Opening day is Sunday, January 3, with guests, celebrities, and polo enthusiasts watching the 20-goal competition on the field that will feature the finals of the season-opening, 20-goal Herbie Pennell Cup.
John Wash, president of the International Polo Club (IPC), expects the 2016 winter polo season to be the best the club has ever hosted. “We’re excited to announce the start of our 13th season of polo at IPC, and predict an unbeatable year,” said Wash. “Whether you’re a first-time spectator or a veteran polo fan, we invite everyone to enjoy the festivities and thrills of high-goal polo during our 17-week winter season, which culminates on April 24.”
New teams promise unprecedented, heart-pumping excitement in 2016. Enhanced, ergonomic seats replace the former lawn seating for field-side spectating, a roster of new and elite sponsors have partnered with the famed facility, and sensational, new hospitality options will delight and entertain the stylish set at The Pavilion. These extraordinary new features, with a dose of good luck, will present the most memorable, high-goal polo season ever.
“IPC will have the top ranked national and international polo players competing in our 20-goal and 26-goal tournaments. We continue to be honored as the host venue for the most prestigious polo tournaments in North America,” said Wash. Those tournaments include the C.V. Whitney Cup, the USPA Gold Cup®, and the esteemed USPA 112th U.S. Open Polo Championship®.”
American Soprano Jessica Fishenfeld, a Young Artist in residence with the Palm Beach Opera, is scheduled to thrill guests with her stirring rendition of the National Anthem at the start of the opening day match.
Opening day will also be sporting some additional horsepower as IPC hosts the kickoff of the Fifth Annual SuperCar Week, featuring dozens of glamorous, high-performance Maseratis, Ferraris, and Lamborghinis.
Game on! Don’t miss the fun, fashion, festivities, and fierce competition on the field every Sunday at the International Polo Club Palm Beach.
