Four Local Charities Awarded Impact Grants During Virtual Awards Celebration

Palm Beach County, FL– (May 5, 2021) Impact the Palm Beaches had a record-breaking year – even during a Pandemic!  For the first time in the organization’s six-year history, Impact the Palm Beaches awarded over $200,000 in grants for the 2020/2021 season.

Impact the Palm Beaches hosted the 6th Annual Impact Awards Celebration virtually on April 29, 2021. With each member contributing $1,000, Impact the Palm Beaches awarded during this inspiring and exciting evening two $100,000 Impact Grants and two $8,050 Merit Grants.

The two $100,000 Impact Grant recipients were Clinics Can Help and their Clinics Can Help Mobile Unit and West Jupiter Community Group, Inc.‘s Edna’s Community Garden Project.  The two Merit Grant recipients were Florida Atlantic University Foundation Brain Institute and the project Mobile Minds: Impacting the Middle School STEM Gap in Northern Palm Beach and Loggerhead Marinelife Center – Building a Blueprint for Healthier Waters and a Healthier Community. Impact the Palm Beaches also featured Wendy Steele, CEO and founder of Impact100, and the global model as the keynote speaker of the virtual awards celebration.

“We were thrilled to give away two $100,000 grants for the first time in Impact the Palm Beaches’ six-year history and to have Wendy Steele be a part of this monumental occasion,” said Jennifer M. Eaton, 2020/2021 Chair of Impact the Palm Beaches.

“We had 81 exceptional applications this year from worthy organizations, each outlining a special project to help those in need,” said Elizabeth Truong, 2020/2021 Co-Chair of Impact the Palm Beaches. “All of these nonprofits deserve funding, but these four proposals were outstanding in their sustainability, innovation, and potential to transform the community. All of them will have a positive impact, and we are proud to support them.”
