The Downtown Cultural Alliance of Lake Worth Welcomes in the New Year with Lake Worth Downtown Lake Worth’s Newest Radio Show

The Lake Worth DCA started the New Year with a new Radio show, Lake Worth Downtown.  WPBR 1340 AM Radio will host a one hour interview show every Tuesday and Thursday from 12-1 PM.  The show features the artists, musicians, shops and restaurants of Lake Worth.  Host Joyce Brown of the Clay Glass Metal Stone Gallery in downtown Lake Worth will parody Prairie Home Companion’s Lake Woebegone with a Lake Worth-it format, conversation, stories and lore, while chronicling the daily lives and goings on of the characters that make up the Lake Worth culture.

The unique neighborhood quality of Lake Worth and its history lends itself to continuing tales and personal histories. Initially, the public will be introduced to the characters who are key to the community and make it unique.  Alternating between shows will be local artists, writers, musicians, shops and restaurants.  Neighborhood Associations, community leaders and those with tales to tell will have their say, while artists, musicians and writers will pave the way.

The theme song, It Feels Like Home to Me, was written is performed by Mel and Vinnie, local musicians with roots in New York State. The have been participants for decades with Pete Seeger in his efforts to clean up the Hudson River and have captained one of the Clearwater Sloops.
