15 South J Street : Downtown Lake Worth, FL Friday, January 17, 2013 6-9PM

Vandy- yes, a one named paper artist- will be presenting her phantasmagorical works in paper mache at the Clay Glass Metal Stone Gallery, Friday, January 17 from 6-9 PM. The gallery is located at 15 South J Street in downtown Lake Worth.

Vandy is the queen of recycled materials that take on new, anthropomorphic existence under s mane, diving for paper pearls s pool of sea shell debris, you will find brightly colored twists and turns, scattered jewels and repurposed treasures.

A Folk-Artist sensibility surrounds all of Vandy’s creations. Brightly colored with twists and turns, each sculpture evokes a story. Some of her forms belie the depth of her message. Other works of art are simply playful and joyous and beg to be owned by those of good cheer.

Paper Art has long been featured at the Clay Glass Metal Stone Gallery. Master weaver, Mary Catello, has long been painting paper, shredding it, and making wonderful and light weight jewelry creations. Her brilliantly formed basketry that she does in partnership with her daughter, Teri Salamoni, is winning prizes throughout the state and is a must-see in the gallery.
