January, 2013 – Mitzvah Day
Members of Temple Beth Torah in Wellington are taking action to improve their community by partnering with Wellington for Mitzvah Day on Sunday, January 27, 2013 from 9:00 am to12:00 pm. Approximately 150 volunteers will participate in a variety of service projects, including beautifying section 24 in Wellington, sorting buttons for Hugs & Kisses, sewing Teddy Bears for children, making No Sew Blankets for our high school graduates, and the baking and delivery of cookies for our firefighters and police officers.
“Mitzvah is a Hebrew word that means doing a good deed,” said Rabbi Stephen Pinsky of Temple Beth Torah. “Our congregational effort to do good deeds for our community can make the community a better place for all of us and for our children.”
This is the fourth year Temple Beth Torah is partnering with Wellington for Mitzvah Day.
