POLL SHOWS KATHY FOSTER HAS COMMANDING LEAD OVER OPPONENT

On June 24-28 a statistically random sample of 350 frequent Democratic voters in Palm Beach County Commission District 6 were polled about their views regarding the August 26 Democratic primary election for the County Commission District 6 seat.

The poll was conducted by American Directions Group (ADG) based in Washington, DC.  The poll has a margin of error of approximately 3%.

According to the poll, Kathy Foster enjoys 41% name recognition compared to only 19% for her opponent Melissa McKinlay.

Foster also enjoys a 5.83 to 1 positive to negative ratio, more than twice that of her opponent.  McKinlay’s positive to negative ratio is a low 2.8 to 1.

Respondents were then asked several questions about each candidate.

When asked who they would vote for, 57% of respondents said they would vote for Kathy Foster (see attached).  Only 11% of respondents said they would vote for McKinlay, giving Foster a commanding 46% lead in the District 6 race.  The remaining voters were undecided.

“As a 35-year resident of District 6, a successful small business owner, the first Mayor of Wellington, and an active community leader, I have worked hard on behalf of the residents of District 6.  Voters value my deep roots and long history of involvement in our district.  Those sentiments are clearly reflected in the poll results,” said Foster.
