20 Downtown Lake Worth Restaurants offer a Delicious Taste in support of Haitian Empty Bowl Fund Raiser Saturday, March 24 – 10 AM to 4 PM

On Saturday, March 24 from 10 AM- 4 PM, Twenty Plus Downtown Lake Worth Restaurants and Food Specialty shops will be offering samples of their food in support of the Haitian Empty Bowl Fund-Raiser. On the day of the event, those donating for and purchasing bowls will go from restaurant to restaurant getting a sample of food from each.  Advance donations for the bowls are being taken at the Clay Glass Metal Stone Gallery at 605 Lake Avenue in downtown Lake Worth.  The gallery is open seven days a week.

Over 300 visitors participate in this event every year.  They start lining up at the Clay Glass Metal Stone Gallery at 10AM to select their hand-crafted bowls on a first come, first serve basis.  Then the fun begins.

Criss-crossing the streets of Lake Worth with bowls in hand, participants go from restaurant to restaurant getting delicious samples of food from each.  Some are small nibbles and others are full bowls of exotic, wonderful foods, unique to Lake Worth.  Starting at Dixie Highway, Yugo’s Print Shop has a Cyber Café which will be serving authentic Haitian Food.  Three new restaurants are about to open their doors serving salads, Asian food and Polyenisian food.  If they make it in time, bowl toters will be able to be among the first to sample their food.

Lake Worth is an outdoor food court with samples from many nations.  Taste Italian foods at Rotelli’s, Downtown Pizza and Fiorentina’s; Seafood at Dave’s; Cuban and Mexican Food at Havana’s and Taco Lady’s; Smoothies and Veggie treats at Java Juice Bar and Nature’s Way; Coffee Treats and Chocolates at Star Bucks, Kava Sutra and Kilwin’s; Doggy Treats at Paws on the Avenue; Buffet Spread at The Cottage, South Shore and Brogue’s; Incredible Rum Cake at La Bonne Bouche; A plate of gastronomical delight at Mother Earth.

Tickets for this event are on sale at Clay Glass Metal Stone Gallery at 605 Lake Avenue, downtown Lake Worth and at Studio 205 at 600 Lake.  Donations are $25 a bowl in advance, $80 for four bowls.  On the day of the event the donation request will be $35.  The bowls will be chosen on a first come- first serve basis on the day of the event.  Twenty restaurants will be providing samples of their foods to those purchasing bowls.
