Wellington Hosts Free Health & Wellness “Lunch and Learn” Seminars for Seniors

 

Wellington seniors can enjoy a free meal and find out the latest information about fueling a healthy body at Wellington’s upcoming Health & Wellness Lunch and Learn Seminars sponsored by Palms West hospital, Good Samaritan Medical Center and Wellington Regional Medical Center! All sessions take place from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm at the Wellington Community Center and are restricted to residents ages 55 and older.

 

Join us on Monday, March 26th as Registered Dietitian Kristen Marquez of Palms West Hospital leads the first session titled, “The Healthy Plate.” On Wednesday, April 4th, Orthopedic Surgeon Dr. Gary Wexler of the Good Samaritan Medical Center will discuss, “Knee Pain: From Aspirin to Robotic Surgery.” The remaining sessions focus on heart health, including an April 16th presentation on, “Improving Your Odds: Symptoms of Heart Attacks & Strokes; April 23rd’s session, “Risk Factors and prevention,” presented by Wellington Regional Medical Center’s Dr. Waqar Kahn, a Board Certified Interventional Cardiologist; and May 7th’s “Reduce Inflammation + Fortify Your Body = Preventing Disease,” presented by Dr. Vincent Apicella, Board Certified in Family Medicine.

 

Preregistration is required to attend these free, exciting and informational Lunch and Learn Seminars. Participants can complete registration at the Wellington Community Center (12150 Forest Hill Boulevard), Village Park (11700 Pierson Road) or online by visiting the Parks & Recreation page at www.wellingtonfl.gov.
