March, 2016- Wellington Joins “Let’s Move!” Campaign
Wellington is ready to get moving against childhood obesity. The Village announced its partnership with the Palm Healthcare Foundation and Ultima Fitness in the 2016 “Let’s Move: Commit to Change” campaign. This local initiative supports First Lady Michelle Obama’s national initiative to reverse childhood obesity.
Throughout the campaign, Wellington and its community partners will encourage residents to take charge of their health by committing to healthy behaviors like exercising and proper nutrition to reduce obesity and diabetes.
The Village will kick off the campaign with a party on Saturday, March 5th at Ultima Fitness (12799 Forest Hill Blvd, Wellington, FL) from 8:00 am – 12:00 pm. The event will include special classes, vendors, and programs to engage residents in an active lifestyle.
Special programs from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm include:
Family Zumba class for everyone ages 7 years old and up (9 am to 10 am)
Restorative Yoga class (10 am to 11 am)
“Just Try It” classes in Tae Kwon Do for children 2 ½ years to 5 years old (10:45 am to 11:15 am) and 6 years to 13 years old (11:15 am to noon)
Complete Group Fitness and Barre Schedule (check www.ultimafitness.com for times)
30 minute “Fitness” clinic
30 minute “Calisthenics” clinic
30 minute “Bio-foam Roller” clinic
Blood Pressure and Body Composition booth
Chiropractic and Sports Performance Training demos
Chair Massages
The first 100 individuals who register for “Team Wellington” will receive a loaded SWAG BAG and complimentary access to Ultima Fitness all day.
