League of Women Voters of Palm Beach County Invites Public to FREE Symposium on

‘The American Court System and Voting Rights’John Howe, Esq, Nancy Cohen, Irving Labovitz, Esq, Geanine Wester, Susan Bucher, Dr. Anthony Hamlet

May 18 in West Palm Beach

 

What:

The League of Women Voters of Palm Beach County is hosting a FREE symposium:  The American Court System and Voting Rights.

 

When:

Saturday, May 18  /  10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

 

Where:

Palm Beach Lakes Community High School

3505 Shiloh Drive in West Palm Beach

 

Who:

Irving Labovitz, J.D., Adjunct Professor at Florida Atlantic University will be the symposium’s Keynote Speaker.

 

Additional speakers will include:

+ Judge Ronald Alvarez, Circuit Judge Fifteenth Judicial Circuit, Juvenile Division

+ Justice Ira K. Rabb, Supreme Court, Marital Court Division, New York. Justice Rabb will discuss the Juvenile Court System

+ Laura Jorgensen, Esq., Assistant U.S. Attorney, Department of Justice. Ms. Jorgensen will speak about the Department of Justice

+ John Howe, Esq., past president of the Palm Beach County Bar Association, Mr. Howe will cover the relationship between the Florida Legislature and Judiciary.

This League of Women Voters symposium is being held as part of Palm Beach Lakes Community High School Center for Pre-Law Magnet Program. The high school is under the leadership of Dr. Anthony Hamlet, Principal.
