“Mug Shots”  is all about faces and portraits.  Portraits are the favorite subjects of most artists, often because they need only look in the mirror for a model.  The portraits in this show are serious, whimsical, off-beat and abstract visions of humanity (and the world of beasts.) A few artists special in animal portraits.  The audience for the show is invited to seek out their favorite artists  and ask to have a portrait created of them, their families, their grandchildren or their pets.

As a special treat in the gallery, artist, Alyrical,  will be on hand to paint or draw  a “Mug Shot on the Spot.”  For only $20 paid to an artist who usually charges hundreds of dollars for their works, visitors can walk away with a special work of art.  For a more intricate work of art, Alyrical will photograph you and create a masterpiece.  Ask any artist in the show to do this, as well, and you will be sure to be captured on canvas for posterity.

For several weeks a group of teen-age artists from the Lake Worth and as far away as the Acreage, area have been working on a large mosaic project.  They took time to create a series of masks for this show.  Some of them will be for sale, the proceeds going to a college scholarship fund for these young people.

Included in the show will be paintings, photographs, glass works, fountains, wooden and pottery masks.

The gallery will celebrate this exhibit with a wine and cheese reception.  The wines provided are donated French wines from a local wine distributor.
