Norton celebrates the holiday season with its annual Holiday Family Festival
Enjoy art, dance, music, magic, Kool 105’s Mo & Sally, and more!
WEST PALM BEACH, FL (Nov. 19, 2012) – Once again, the Norton Museum of Art’s annual, entertainment-filled Holiday Family Festival offers families a joyous way to kick off the holiday season. Set for Sunday, Dec. 2, 2012, the Festival features music and dance performances, a gospel choir, a magic troupe, art activities and tours, treasure hunts, and more. The merriment begins at 1 p.m., but Café 1451 will be serving a holiday brunch from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Regular Museum admission applies.
“Each year the Holiday Family Festival draws terrific performers from our area,” says Glenn Tomlinson, William Randolph Hearst Curator of Education at the Norton. “Our visitors are thrilled by the quality of the musicians and dancers, and they love the holiday activities and family tours all over the Museum. We look forward to welcoming everyone for a great day.”
Visitors are sure to be uplifted by the graceful dancers of the Florida Dance Conservatory and the sounds of the Tabernacle Gospel Chorus. The House of Flying Cards is also set to thrill viewers with its bag of tricks and illusion, storyteller Monica Ladd will share exciting tales in the galleries, and the Maltz Jupiter Theatre Youth Touring Company and Women of Note will sing holiday classics.
Children can design and make their own gift wrap and artistic ornaments all afternoon. Incredibly, the Norton was able to get on Santa Claus’ busy December calendar, and the jolly old elf will make a special appearance at 2 p.m.
A self-guided Gallery Treasure Hunt, “Sparkle for the Holidays,” is available for families to enjoy together, and adult and family tours will introduce you to the Museum Collection and special exhibitions.
