The New American Dream

Hello Dreamers!
With the presidential election right around the corner, there are many issues on top of mind for many people. The middle class and the American dream are some of those very issues. They both go hand and hand with each other.
Once upon a time, all one needed to secure the foundation for this ideal dream was to receive a college diploma (there are many ways one can achieve a dream but going to college was the one that was guaranteed) and they were on their way to achieving a better quality of life. In today’s world, that guarantee is no longer written in stone.
In this brave new world, it is up to each individual to take responsibility for their life and navigate it to the desired destination. This concept is opposite of what we witness in today’s culture at large. We become complacent with the status quo and go on auto pilot through life. With this type of mindset, someone’s life is bound to stay the same and never aspire to knowing other people, places, or things. If you want that new American dream, you are going to have to fight for it and make it happen. However, the key is not to lose sight of what is important and lose focus. Besides, half the fun is the journey and the people you share it with.

Afterthought: In these times of uncertainty, it is even more important to stay dialed into the life that you desire. There are many things that can distract us and consume our time until we become stuck in a monotonous routine. The white picket fence might not be the ideal standard that everyone once aspired to, but that doesn’t mean new ideals can’t be created and obtained. A new American dream is out there if you Dare to Dream.
