CHILDREN LEARN TO MAKE KID FRIENDLY SALSA IN “LA COCINA DE NINOS”; CITY OFFICIALS “BURN THEIR BUDS” IN THE ANNUAL SIZZLING SALSA SHOWDOWN, AND LAKE WORTH HIGH SCHOOL CULINARY STUDENTS VIE FOR “BEST STUDENT CHEF SALSA” AT CENTRAL PALM BEACH COUNTY CHAMBER’S 7TH ANNUAL SALSAFEST
GREENACRES COMMUNITY PARK, SATURDAY AND SUNDAY NOVEMBER 23RD AND 24TH.
Just for kids at this year’s SalsaFest, LA COCINA DE NIÑOS (Kid’s Kitchen) is open to boys and girls ages 5 to 12 who will learn to make a delicious “kid friendly” salsa using delicious ingredients from Publix Sabor. This is a free activity and each child will receive a complimentary wrist band for unlimited children’s activities at the event. There are two sessions planned for each day beginning at 11:15 a.m. and applications are available at www.salsafest.com.
Beginning at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 23, city officials from Greenacres, Wellington, Loxahatchee Groves, Indian Trail Improvement District, Palm Springs, Lake Clarke Shores and Lake Worth will throw down the gauntlet in the annual “Battle of the Burgs – Sizzling Salsa Showdown” challenge, the winner taking home the trophy for their city.
Students from Lake WorthHigh School’s CulinaryAcademy will show off their cooking skills as they compete for the “Best Student Chef Sizzling Salsa” trophy and prizes. The contest begins at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, November 24th. All activities will take place in the Republic Services of Palm Beach tent on sponsor row.
SalsaFest is an annual event produced by the Central Palm Beach County Chamber of Commerce, the regional chamber for the central communities of Palm Beach County.
