Wellington Names Assistant Village Manager

Wellington named Director of Operations, Jim Barnes, as its new Assistant Village Manager. Mr. Barnes joined the Village 12 years ago, and has served in positions ranging from Deputy Director of Community Services, Deputy Director of Environmental and Engineering Services, Parks & Recreation Director and most recently, Director of Operations were he managed Parks & Recreation, Public Works, Engineering, Planning, Zoning and Building and Community Services.

“Mr. Barnes is an accomplished manager and problem solver,” Village Manager Paul Schofield said.  “Jim has been filling the role of Assistant Village Manager for the last year, and based on his performance and dedication has earned the promotion.  Jim is a real asset to Wellington.”

Prior to joining Wellington, Mr. Barnes worked in the private and public sector in planning and land development.

“Wellington is a wonderful community,” Barnes said. “I know this both as a resident and as an employee. We have a great team at the Village, and everyone works very hard to make Wellington the Great Hometown that it is,” he said, adding, “I’m looking forward to continuing to serve the residents of Wellington.
