Big Dog Ranch Rescue is holding its 1st Annual “Golf with the Big Dogs” Tournament at Binks Forest Golf Club in Wellington on Saturday, October 29th. The Tournament will be a fantastic day of competitive fun with wonderful prizes such as Golf for 4 at the area’s top golf courses, plus gift certificates for dining at fabulous restaurants, including a $500 gift certificate to Brio. We are looking for Dog and Golf lovers to join us in the tournament or sponsor a hole to show their support. There will be fun contests and dogs on the golf course along with raffles and delicious food. We promise it will be an amazing day! Big Dog Ranch Rescue provides shelter, care and affection to homeless and unwanted dogs of all breeds and adopts them out to loving human companions. To that end, we also promote animal welfare and celebrate the special bond between dogs and people through education, awareness and community outreach. We are very proud to have placed over 750 dogs in forever homes last year and hope to increase that number this year. We are one of the largest no-kill shelters in the State of Florida.
Big Dog Ranch Rescue is located in Wellington on the site of the Folke Peterson Wildlife Center and just moved here in May 2011. Since the site was previously set up for wildlife, we are in the process of retrofitting many of the buildings to be more in line with our needs. The golf tournament will help raise funds to care for the dogs’ day to day needs, as well as acute medical care and to make improvements at the Ranch. Because of the current economic situation we have many dogs whose owners could not afford their regular care or costly medical conditions. We are dedicated to the dogs that we rescue and do everything possible to bring them back to health and adopt them out to loving homes.
