Lake Worth will be Singing the Blues all Week in Preparation of the Blues, Brews, & BBQ Event!

The Mayor of Lake Worth is declaring it “Blues Week” for the City of Lake Worth’s inaugural Blues, Brews & BBQ Festival scheduled to roll into town October 20-21.  The event, which closes down Bryant Park, will be open from noon to 10pm on Saturday and noon to 7pm on Sunday.

The festival features two days of the best blues music in South Florida, with performances by recording artists Bill ‘The Sauce Boss’ Wharton and Victor Wainwright & the Wild roots plus many other bands – including Damon Fowler Group and Joey Gilmore.

“This event is truly a collaboration of many individuals,” stated Jaene Miranda, CEO of the Central Palm Beach County Chamber, producers of the event.  “It is only with the support of the City of Lake Worth, our Board of Directors and staff, along with a very dedicated group of committee members and area sponsors that we were able to make it all come together.”

Presenting sponsors of the event include Royal Palm Mazda and the Bamboo Room who is the official location for the post event parties.

Royal Palm Mazda will have six vehicles on site for those interested in checking out a new Mazda. Blues lovers that stop by and register will be given a chance to win a Grand Prize all-expenses-paid trip to the 2013 New Orleans Jazz & Blues Festival from April 26th thru May 5th. The winner will be selected at random at the close of the Blues, Brews, & BBQ event on October 21st.

Additionally, Royal Palm will be giving away additional prizes and giveaways throughout the two days, including Publix gift cards and Mazda merchandise. Royal Palm Mazda’s General Manager, Larry Tabloff, is thrilled to be a part of the inaugural two-day affair. “Being an active member and supporter of the Central Palm Beach County Chamber of Commerce and the Palm Beach / Lake Worth community is what Royal Palm Mazda strives upon. To take share in this inaugural festival we hope opens the doors to many other community events and you bet we will be at the Blues, Brews, & BBQ for years to come.”

The Bamboo Room known for their great line up of Blues Artists who perform throughout the year looks forward to hosting the after parties throughout the weekend

Many of the shops and restaurants in downtown Lake Worth will feature Blues and Jazz performers well into the weekend. The Clay Glass Metal Stone Gallery will be holding the “Artists Do the Blues,” an invitational exhibition of thirty local artists, on Friday, October 19 from 6-9PM. The exhibition’s curators are Betty Wilson and Linda Manganaro and invited artists throughout Palm Beach County will be participating. Local musicians will be dropping by to fill the sidewalk in front of the gallery with classic Blues sounds.

Bryant Park is located in the City of Lake Worth on the corner of Lake Avenue and Golfview Road – on the Intracoastal.  The Bryant Park boat ramp will be closed during the festival.  Admission is $10.
