October, 2012 – Trunk or Treat, a FREE event in Wellington

Trunk or Treat Event, a Safe Alternative to Trick or Treating

Halloween is arriving a few days early in the Village of Wellington! Join us on Sunday, October 28th from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. for our free Trunk or Treat event in the student parking lot at Wellington Community High School located at 2101 Greenview Shores Boulevard. Now in its fourth year, Trunk or Treat is a safe, family-friendly twist on trick or treating where volunteers decorate their vehicles and distribute Halloween treats out of their trunks. Children ages 12 and under are invited to trick or treat from vehicle to vehicle. Families can also enjoy live music, refreshments, a bounce house, face painting, craft tables, and more. There will also be a costume contest for children and a trunk decoration contest with gift cards for the winners.

If you’re interested in decorating your car and passing out candy, contact Kim Henghold, Community Projects Manager, at (561) 791-4137 or khenghold@wellingtonfl.gov. This is a great volunteer opportunity for families, and high school students who drive are also encouraged to participate.

Trunk or Treat is made possible through Wellington’s partnership with Wellington Community High School’s DECA program, the Interfaith Group, Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, Palm Beach County Fire Rescue, and Walgreens.
