South Florida Fairgrounds gears up for Spookyville
West Palm Beach, Fla. – Families and children can enjoy a safe, fun, Halloween experience at the 13th annual Spookyville, an event that will be spread out over two weekends, Oct. 17-19 and Oct. 24-26, as well as on Halloween, Oct. 31, in Yesteryear Village at the South Florida Fairgrounds, 9067 Southern Blvd., West Palm Beach. Hours are Fridays from 5-8 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays from 11 a.m.-6 p.m.
Designed for kids 12 and younger, Spookyville’s highlights include trick-or-treating, carnival rides, a hay maze, scarecrow making, old-timey games, arts and crafts, a spooky house, scavenger hunts, a barrel train, and food and drinks. Those who wear a costume on Sundays can compete for prizes starting at 1 p.m. A pet costume contest will be held on both Fridays, Oct. 17 and 24, and will begin at 7 p.m. Three prizes will be awarded. åPets must be on a leash when entering the event. The Fair asks that no exotic pets or reptiles (snakes, spiders, etc.) be brought on site as they may scare the younger kids.
Admission is $8 and free for children 2 years old and younger and includes all activities. Two for the price of one adult admission coupons are available in various locations throughout the community for Oct. 17 and 24 entrance only. Parking is free. Backpacks, food, glass containers and alcohol are prohibited. Spookyville is sponsored by Ford, Coke and Kubota.
