About the Music

The Georgia Satellites — a band that has packed houses around the world with their blistering brand of Southern rock — will headline Friday night at 7:30 p.m. What sets them apart from the other 10,000 groups that cranked their amps to 11, was that their wild riffs and tanked cries came from a quartet that understood its place in rock tradition and fought hard to solidify it with each recording. Founded in 1985, the Satellites quickly launched into stardom with hits like “Keep Your Hands to Yourself,” “Battleship Chains,” “Hippy Hippy Shake” and others. Critically acclaimed albums and mind-bending performances earned the boys a permanent spot in music history.

The Leroy Van Dyke Country Gold Tour with Leroy Van Dyke, T-Graham Brown, and T.G. Sheppard, a show that has consistently captured fans when it’s presented at the South Florida Fair, will headline Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. The legendary, award-winning classic country icon Leroy Van Dyke and friends take fans on a retrospective, nostalgic journey featuring America’s golden music. Featuring renowned classic country music performers who have topped the charts and had massive media exposure, they entertain by performing the celebrated “Nashville Sound” that has taken their music around the world and back. Reserved seats are available for this show for $10 per person.

John Anderson will headline Saturday night at 7:30 p.m. On his latest album, “Goldmine,” released on his own Bayou Boys label, he completed a long overdue record of original songs. He wrote or co-wrote 12 of the album’s 13 tracks. Goldmine also is a record that, given the current state if contemporary country, could, like Cash and Haggard before him, find a home amid lovers of authentic music of any genre. Though he would never compare himself to his heroes, Anderson is now the standard bearer for traditional country music. In a Country Music Hall of Fame-worthy career that has produced 23 albums, more than 60 singles (20 reaching the Top 10), and a wealth of industry awards, Goldmine proves that there’s still a lot of gold in Anderson. Reserved seats are available for this show for $10 per person.

Seth, a yoga instructor and gym owner in Wellington (Iron Lion Fitness), is destroying his body in order to get his client Dave to change his unhealthy ways. Dave, a 380 pound IT specialist and Army veteran (Your Computer Guy) has all but given up on himself and his weight. Seth does everything he can to inspire Dave to put aside his love for unhealthy food to save his own life.

Seth of Iron Lions
Seth of Iron Lions

A&E Network presents a groundbreaking new series that follows personal fitness trainers from across the country as they undertake the most extreme weight-loss experiment ever: by forcing themselves to gain weight, they aim to better understand the struggles of their obese clients as they lose the weight together.

In 2012, professional fitness trainer Drew Manning saw that there was a disconnect between him and his out of shape clients. They claimed he couldn’t understand what they were going through. So he purposely gained 75 pounds to understand the struggle to lose it.  It was the hardest thing he’d ever done, but it changed his life forever.

A&E’s new docuseries “Fit to Fat to Fit” follows 10 trainers at the top of their game who will embark on Drew’s challenge; agreeing to intentionally pack on the pounds by indulging in an unhealthy diet and completely refraining from exercise in order to transform from fit to fat.

During the weight gain process, these elite trainers around the country will document the radical effects of watching their healthy bodies deteriorate. Everything from their mental stability and physical energy to their personal relationships will be challenged. After four months of gaining weight under medical supervision, each trainer will rejoin their client and together they’ll begin a four-month transformation from fat to fit.

At the end of each episode there will be a final check-in to reveal whether or not each trainer and client reached their weight loss goals. This highly emotional and inspiring journey will explore the highs and lows of a rigorous process many Americans battle every day.

“Fit to Fat to Fit airs Tuesdays at 10/9c on A&E.”
