June, 2012 – Invitation to Local Artists

Clay Glass Metal Stone Cooperative Gallery Sponsors

An Invitational Group Art Exhibit

Oddity of the Artist

Hosted by Betty Wilson and Linda Manganaro of the Dixie Art Loft

June 15 to June 30

Clay Glass Metal Stone Gallery, 605 Lake Avenue in Downtown Lake Worth will host an Invitational Art Exhibit organized by The Dixie Art Loft.  Although a 3-D gallery, CGMS will look the other way as artists of every genre interpret the theme “Oddity of the Artist” in any medium they choose.  Betty Wilson and Linda Manganaro, long time art exhibition partners, have put out an invitation to artists throughout the county to submit three works of art loosely based upon the theme.  All invited artists will have at least one of their works in the show.  All works will be for sale.

To become an invited artist contact Betty Wilson, [email protected].  She will issue an application form and complete details on how to submit works for the exhibition.

“Oddity” will be left to the interpretation of the artist.  Although some consider all artists a bit odd, artists themselves are often taken with the complexities of life and their surroundings, giving nuanced interpretations of all they encounter.  What is one artist’s oddity is another’s reason for being.  Expect outrageous interpretations of the theme and expect anything you might bring to mind.  Oddity of the Artist will open at the Clay Glass Metal Stone Gallery on Friday, June 15 at 6:00 PM.  The show will continue until Saturday, June 30.

Clay§Glass§Metal§Stone Cooperative Gallery is sponsored by the Flamingo Clay Studio, a non-profit arts organization whose mission is to provide affordable studio and gallery space for three-dimensional artists.  The gallery is located at 605 Lake Avenue in downtown Lake Worth. Hours are Sunday thru Tuesday, 9AM-1PM. Wednesday thru Saturday, 9AM-9PM.   Gallery openings are the first and third Friday of each month from 6-9 PM with many special events in-between.  For information call Joyce Brown-215-205-9441 or [email protected].  Gallery phone: 561-588-8344.
