“Play it Forward: Music for a Cause”
15h Season of the Florida Intergenerational Orchestra: Opening Concert Encourages Unity
Boca Raton, Florida-On Sunday, February 23rd, 3:00 P.M. The Florida Intergenerational Orchestra, the orchestra for everyone, will perform its first concert of the 15th season at O’Shea Hall on the grounds of Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 22094 Lyons Road, Boca Raton., entitled “Play it Forward: Music for a Cause.” The conductor of the orchestra, Lorraine Marks-Field has dedicated most of her life to the cause of “Blending the Generations Through Music.” Starting with the idea in her native New Jersey, she initially created the New Jersey Intergenerational Orchestra and then 15 years ago continued the concept with the Florida Intergenerational Orchestra. The orchestra seeks to encourage the unity of family and family ties and wants everyone to bring their families to the concert which will feature music universally enjoyed such as Thunder and Lightning Polka, Theme from Star Wars, and Radetsky March as well as a number of other crowd pleasing selections. Show your appreciation for grandma and grandpa and your grandchildren by bringing them to this wonderful concert and share the joy and excitement of beautiful music together with family and loved ones.
If you’ve experienced the love and joy of one of the orchestra’s concerts,” play it forward “ by telling your friends and family about us, and the experience you had just being in the hall surrounded by so much love.
If you want to keep your brain engaged throughout the aging process, listening to or playing music is a great tool.
The orchestra promotes health and wellness through music. Come and be inspired.
This remarkable orchestra comprised of musicians spanning the ages of 9 to 90 has over the past 15 years delighted audiences. The gifted and award winning conductor, Lorraine Marks-Field, deftly blends the different abilities of the members of the orchestra.
