TBC Corporation Gives to Three Local Non-profits

Leader in the tire and automotive industry donates $30,000 in office furniture

PALM BEACH GARDENS, FL — December 03, 2021 — TBC Corporation, a leader in the tire and automotive service industry with several trusted well-known brands, including retail brands Tire Kingdom Service Centers and  NTB Tire & Service Centers, and franchise brands Big O Tires and Midas, along with many companies around the world adopted new ways of working brought on by the pandemic.

The organization, headquartered in Palm Beach Gardens, took this opportunity to reimagine their office space reflecting a commitment to hybrid work and accommodating associates who work remotely. This provided an opportunity to re-home solid wood furniture – desks, credenzas, wall units, filing cabinets, conference room tables and chairs – which was donated to several local nonprofits, including Wounded Veterans Relief Fund (WVRF), Adopt-A-Family and Boys and Girls Club.

“Wounded Veterans Relief Fund is grateful and excited to receive this amazing furniture donation from TBC. Our office furniture desperately needed an upgrade. Thank you!” stated Mike Durkee, Executive Director for WVRF whose mission is to provide emergency financial assistance and professional services to qualified Florida disabled veterans in order to save lives and keep families together.

WVRF was founded in 2009 and has proudly built a history and reputation for placing veterans first. During October 2021 alone, the organization was able to assist 54 veterans and 107 of their spouses and children providing assistance for housing, emergency vehicle expenses and dental assistance across the state of Florida.

“A huge thank you to TBC Corporation for such a generous contribution,” said Adopt-A-Family CEO Matt Constantine. “This donation of office furniture is a big help to our agency and ultimately our mission.”

Adopt-A-Family of the Palm Beaches’ mission is to support families with children in their efforts to achieve stability and self-sufficiency by providing access to all-encompassing services. To achieve its mission, the agency provides an emergency shelter, 112 housing units, rental assistance, case management, afterschool care for elementary school students, mental health services, and job coaching.

Furniture was also donated to three Boys & Girls Clubs centers in Riviera Beach, replacing pieces that needed to be refreshed. Project Fathers And Children Together (FACT) is a Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County program that helps fathers become more involved in their children’s lives and also helps to strengthen relationships in the community.

Project FACT Manager, Shamus Gordon said, “Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County’s Project FACT is grateful for the generous donation of office furniture from TBC. It’s such partnership between for profit and not for profit organizations that help to strengthen the social fabric of local community. Thanks, TBC for your contributions!” said Shamus Gordon, Program Manager.

The donation aims to support TBC’s corporate social responsibility (CSR), an integral component of the corporation and all business units spanning retail, franchise, wholesale, distribution and ecommerce. Delivering on one of the company’s core values – leave everything better, TBC re-homed office furniture with a replacement value of approximately $30,000.

“We feel strongly about supporting our local communities,” said Brian Maciak, EVP, General Counsel & Chief Compliance Officer of TBC Corporation, who oversees social responsibility. “We are thrilled to promote sustainability by extending the useful life of our furniture while helping these non-profit organizations accommodate growth and the services they provide by furnishing their spaces.”
