The 48th Annual Carbonell Awards, recognizing the best in theater in South Florida, was held on Monday, November 17, in the University Theatre at Florida Atlantic University at FAU. Up to 500 actors, musicians, performers, writers, directors, back-stage technicians, producers, reviewers, designers, specialty artists, and diehard theater fans attended South Florida’s version of Broadway’s Tony Awards®, the first one to be held in Palm Beach County since 1997. The ceremony is usually held in Broward County.
