The Westchester Cup is a 137 year old polo event which has been played 20 times during that period of time between the United States and England.

Five of the past six competitions had England coming out on top.

This year’s game was played at the National Polo Center under sunny yet very windy conditions.

Both teams were quite equal being rated at 25 goals each.

After a back and forth first half with the score tied at 6, England controlled the entire second half by outscoring the US team 6-3.

The US team was held scoreless in the fifth chucker.

The English team returned the trophy to its home soil with their 12-9 victory.

The US team players were Matt Coppola, Nico Escobar, Jeff Hall and Jared Zanni.

The winning team from England was comprised of Game MVP, team captain and youngest player at 25 Tommy Beresford, James Beim, Max Charlton and Mark Tomlinson.
