YOUNG FRIENDS OF THE PALM BEACH SYMPHONY
MIX AND MINGLE FOR MUSIC ON A POLO AFTERNOON
PALM BEACH, FL (Feb. 13, 2015) – Palm Beach Symphony’s newest group of classical enthusiasts went west to Wellington recently to mix and mingle for music while enjoying an afternoon of world-class polo at the International Polo Club Palm Beach. More than 60 Young Friends and guests attended the exclusive event that took place in the Club’s premier VIP tent and featured a lavish Polo Club brunch and cocktails.
Young Friends of the Palm Beach Symphony (YFPBS), in its inaugural year, offers exclusive, tailored events which include dynamic socials, along with engaging educational and unique networking opportunities. They bring together and entertain like-minded contemporaries in some of Palm Beach County’s most upscale venues while supporting the programs of the Palm Beach Symphony.
Following an exciting polo match, members and special guests continued the social affair into the Club’s pavilion for a festive after-party. Selected as the Polo Club’s charity of choice for the day, the International Polo Club’s official caterer, Aaron’s Catering, presented YFPBS with $750 from a 50/50 raffle as well as 10% of the bar’s proceeds that evening.
“It was thrilling to see such a great response at our Polo event and we are thankful for the tremendous support we are receiving for our first season of Young Friends,” noted Todd Barron, YFPBS Committee Chairman. “I would like to thank Josh Sagman, of Josh Sagman and Associates, for hosting us in the VIP tent and sponsoring the cocktails for the fun afternoon and Julie Menitoff, Director of Catering for Aaron’s Catering, for selecting our organization to be the day’s charitable beneficiary. Additionally, I want to show my appreciation to the Young Friends founding committee for coordinating an exciting opening season all in support of South Florida’s premier orchestra.”
In addition to Barron, founding YFPBS committee members include Nannette Cassidy, Carolyn Broadhead, Angie Cortesio, Scott Diament, Christine DiRocco, Aaron Wormus, Erin O’Mahoney and Cari Rentas.

The Young Friends’ season will conclude with a lecture at Wally Findlay Galleries International, Wednesday, March 11th, 5:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Palm Beach Symphony’s 2014-2015 concert season runs through March 18th. The Symphony performs in a variety of historically important venues including Bethesda-By-The-Sea Episcopal Church, Mar-a-Lago and The Society of the Four Arts.
