Proceeds will provide defibrillators and cardiac emergency training for organizations

West Palm Beach, FL. – Hot on the heels of the CPR requirement that was passed into law this summer, the nonprofit dedicated to saving lives through the gifting ofAutomated External Defibrillators (AEDs) and subsequent training is excited to announce two ways for community members to support their cause this Fall.Heartof the Game, Inc., founded in 2016 by Craig Goldenfarb, will host their annual golf tournament at Banyan Cay Resort inWest Palm Beach on October 22 and at Shingle Creek Golf Club in Orlando on November 10. Both tournaments welcome players, supporters, and sponsors to raise proceeds to purchase the AED machines and provide cardiac emergency response training to athletic organizations, schools, and clubs focusing on youth sports.

“As many as 9,500 youth die in the U.S. each year due to Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA),” shared Goldenfarb. “Many of these deaths could be prevented with AED machines nearby and the proper training, which also includes knowing how to do CPR. Heart of the Game’s mission is to have life-saving AEDs everywhere athletes play.”

The idea resulted from the near-death experience of Craig’s father and the loss of a fellow adult league soccer player in 2014 after suffering cardiac arrest following a soccer game. Added Goldenfarb, “I was only 17 at the time of my dad’s SCA. Luckily, he survived after having triple bypass surgery. It was when I experienced the loss in my soccer league because no AED was present that I became even more aware of the importance of quick response and positive outcomes. I knew I wanted to do all I could to make AEDs available to save lives.”

Both tournaments feature a 50/50 raffle, mulligans package, liquor cart, lunch, and post-tournament lunch reception featuring prizes and auctions. All player registration fees include greens fees and cart fees.
