The American-German Club of the Palm Beaches shares the holiday cheer and excitement of an authentic German outdoor Christmas market. Visitors have plenty of opportunity pick up some German language essentials and learn more about German culture without having to travel to Europe. Experience the old world charm at Christkindlmarkt at the American-German Club by creating lasting memories and starting a new tradition with family and friends!
Fun activities are geared towards the youngest visitors, including workshops of making Christmas ornaments, coloring pages, decorating miniature gingerbread houses and much more! The Christkindlmarkt is featuring a variety of vendors selling unique wares. Gifts such as handcrafted ornaments, jewelry, and clothing will be available for visitors’ perusal.
German delicacies such as bratwurst, potato pancakes, and schnitzel along with sweet indulgences ranging from baked holiday specialties like the traditional stollen, strudel, pretzels, and roasted nuts will satisfy all tastes. Imported German beer, the not to be missed Glühwein – hot spiced wine, will be available for purchase in souvenir mugs. Our seating areas provide visitors with a place to relax, sit down and enjoy delicious food and drinks.
The Christkindlmarkt hosts live entertainment and performances with a focus to highlight young performers from our surrounding community. School groups, a brass band with its festive popular holiday music, holiday carolers and dance group will perform. The Christkind, the namesake of the market, and Santa Claus will be available for photos with the children.
After dusk children are invited to participate in the parade during which they are led through the market, carrying lanterns, and singing several classic German and American holiday songs. The highlight of the event will be the Tree Lighting by Santa at around 6:30 pm.
The Christkindlmarkt will be open Saturday from 2pm until 10pm and Sunday from 1pm until 8pm. Pre-sale Admission is $8 for adults (gate ticket sales on event day $10). For children under 12 of age, Admission is FREE.
