December 5, 2025 (Lake Worth Beach, Fla.) — The Cultural Council for Palm Beach County is gearing up for its next solo exhibition, featuring works by Palm Beach County-based visual artist Mark Forman.
Stimulating Thoughts reflects on ideas long stewing in Forman’s subconscious, demanding visual form. Through painting, collage, and mixed media—including several new pieces he’s created in the last two years—Forman confronts lies, injustice, and misinterpretations alongside deeper concerns for humanity.
The exhibition runs from December 19, 2025 through January 31, 2026 in the Gayle and Paul Gross Gallery at the Cultural Council’s headquarters in downtown Lake Worth Beach.
“Mark Forman’s work deals with challenging subjects and encourages the viewer to look deeply into the work, as well as themselves,” says Jessica Ransom, the Council’s director of artist services. “We invite the public to view these poignant artworks and consider, question, and engage in meaningful dialogue that sparks change.”
An opening reception for Stimulating Thoughts will take place on Thursday, December 18, 2025 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Cultural Council’s headquarters. It is free and open to the public.
“I hope people understand creating a piece of art is a thought process,” says Forman. “I don’t just do pretty things. I create things that come out of my brain; from situations and the world we live in. It’s important for the community to appreciate creative people—just as they appreciate doctors, lawyers, and other professionals. I hope people relate to what I have to say and that they understand the thinking and emotion behind it.”
The Cultural Council provides emerging, mid-career, or experienced visual artists the opportunity for a solo exhibition in its Gayle and Paul Gross Gallery each season. Selected through a highly competitive application process, Forman is one of six Palm Beach County-based artists chosen by a committee of visual art professionals for one of these solo shows. In addition to installing the artworks and hosting a reception, the Council provides a stipend to each artist to support framing and transportation costs. All artworks are for sale, and a portion of proceeds go to the individual artists.
This exhibition is generously sponsored by the Tourist Development Council, the Palm Beach County Board of County Commissioners, the Florida Division of Arts & Culture, and Florida Weekly.
