(PALM BEACH, Fla.) Neiman Marcus Palm Beach, a longtime sponsor of the Raymond F. Kravis Center for the Performing Arts’ annual Gala, will host a designer kickoff reception on Wednesday, January 13 in honor of the 2016 benefit, its leadership and its supporters. The special invite-only fashion show will feature current designs by world-renowned designer Naeem Khan.

The Kravis Center’s Gala will be chaired by the mother-daughter team of Dorothy Kohl and Lori Gendelman, both of Palm Beach.

“We are very grateful to partner with Neiman Marcus Palm Beach and Beth Pine, their Vice President General Manager again this year,” said Mrs. Gendelman. “Their sponsorship and support continue to have a meaningful impact on the Kravis Center’s annual Gala, which raises funds for performing arts programming in our local community. And we are especially excited to see current fashions by famed designer Naeem Khan. His line is consistently beautiful, featuring flattering silhouettes and bright patterns. Hosting the kickoff with a designer showcase at Neiman Marcus is the perfect opportunity to thank the Gala supporters and get them excited about the Gala!”

Grammy award-winning solo artist Patti LaBelle, fondly referred to as the “Godmother of Soul,” will take the stage for a spectacular performance when the Kravis Center holds its annual Gala on Wednesday, February 3, 2016. LaBelle’s effortless ability to belt out rhythm and blues renditions, pop standards and spiritual sonnets has fueled her popularity for more than 50 years. The Philadelphia-born star entered the pop charts in 1962 as lead singer of The Bluebelles and went on to receive worldwide acclaim with the trio, Labelle. An award-winning solo artist since the ‘70s, the soulful singer’s classics include “On My Own,” “New Attitude,” “Lady Marmalade” and “If You Asked Me To.”

“The Gala is an extraordinary evening on the town – with a performance, dinner and dancing – and has earned the enviable reputation as a gala where guests of all ages are guaranteed to have a very memorable evening,” said Mrs. Kohl. “We encourage supporters to buy their tickets early, as the Gala is always a sold-out success!”

Monika Preston and Kathryn Vecellio are serving as Honorary Chairs. Gala committee members are Eileen Berman, Michael J. Bracci, Robert L. Fromer, Irene Karp, John H. Kessler, David S. Mack, Ted Mandes, William A. Meyer, Jane M. Mitchell, Laurie S. Silvers, Jeffrey A. Stoops, and Dom A. Telesco.

Gala sponsors include: Dr. Nettie Birnbach, The Breakers Palm Beach, Alex and Renate Dreyfoos, Sanford and Isanne Fisher, Alec and Miriam Flamm, Lori and Bruce Gendelman, Diane and Bruce Halle, Harless & Associates, JPMorgan Chase & Co., Henni and John Kessler, Dorothy and Sidney Kohl, Ingrid and David Kosowsky, Sondra and David S. Mack, Jocelyn and Robin Martin, Jack and Goldie Wolfe Miller Fund, Jane M. Mitchell, Neiman Marcus Palm Beach, Monika and John Preston, SBA Communications Corporation, Laurie Silvers and Mitchell Rubenstein, Carolyn and Richard Sloane, Susan and Dom Telesco, Kathryn and Leo Vecellio and Lois Silverman Yashar and Dr. James Yashar. Tiffany & Co. is providing special support and media support is being provided by Palm Beach Illustrated.

Ticket sales and rental revenue alone do not cover the cost of operating a not-for-profit facility like the Kravis Center. It is only through generous contributions and benefit events like the Gala that the Kravis Center continues to succeed in making the best of performing arts available to the entire community.

Centrally located in West Palm Beach, the Raymond F. Kravis Center for the Performing Arts is one of the premier performing arts centers in the Southeast with a national and international reputation. Established as a leading force in the social fabric of the community, its many outreach programs are as broad and varied as the community itself. To date, the Center has opened the door to the performing arts for approximately 2 million school children.

Tickets for this year’s Gala are $750 for the Gala Patron and $375 for the Young Gala Patron (45 and younger). Dress is cocktail attire. For more information or to purchase tickets please visit kravis.org/gala or call (561) 651-4320.
