February, 2015 – 9 Years Around Wellington!
This month we celebrate 9 years of Around Wellington Magazine, now AroundWellington.com. And yes, since I get asked all of the time, it’s an online magazine only now! But honestly I think there are so many advantages to being online instead of in print, I would say it is improved! We can get to people immediately this way, we don’t have to produce something that creates more trash (or recycling), and if there’s a mistake – I can fix it in an instant, instead of having to wait a month and print a correction! All good things. Also, we can see who is reading our material, how many people and get some demographics – something we could never get accurately from print!
Another BIG addition is our video component! THANKS to Monica Kallas of SharpShooter Marketing, we have been creating fun, short, successful videos – all Around Wellington! We have been receiving great feedback on our most recent one about polo, which by the way, reached over 5,000 people in its first two days of being launched. And coming soon, we are producing a video about dressage and WEF (World Cup). I truly appreciate the hospitality and warm welcome from the equestrian side of Wellington, especially since it’s taken us nine years to venture into the equestrian events. Beautiful sports, beautiful horses, amazing food, great fashions…if you haven’t been to these events, you are missing out!
