On Sunday, October 28th 2012, The Wellington Runners Club, a 501(c3) charity, presents the 8th Annual Wellington Horse Country Ten Miler, Sebastian’s 5k Walk/Run and Kids Fun Run to benefit the Kid’s Cancer Foundation and Wellington Landings Middle School Sports Programs. The race will be run through Wellington’s scenic equestrian and aeronautical communities. There will be vendor booths set up outside the pavilion, exciting raffles and playground for the kids. This promises to be an event of exciting competition as well as some good old family fun! New this year will be the Kid’s Fun Run – Sponsored by Roseff Pediatric Dentistry.
Tech shirts guaranteed to the first 400 registrants and all adult finishers will get a free draft beer coupon for Hurricanes in Wellington.
Charity
The Wellington Horse Country Ten Miler and Sebastian’s 5K Walk/Run will benefit the Kids Cancer Foundation of South Florida, a non-profit charity whose mission is to provide hope and support to local kids and families battling cancer. Sebastian’s 5K Walk/Run is for those walkers/runners who might not be up to a full ten mile run. This 5K is in memory of Sebastian Sarmiento, a courageous Wellington 9-year-old boy who lost his battle with cancer on January 30, 2009.
A portion of the proceeds will benefit Wellington Landings Middle School Sports Programs, encouraging kids to be active and an ultimate goal for a new track. More . . .
