TBC Corporation Gives to Three Local Non-profits

Leader in the tire and automotive industry donates $30,000 in office furniture

PALM BEACH GARDENS, FL — December 03, 2021 — TBC Corporation, a leader in the tire and automotive service industry with several trusted well-known brands, including retail brands Tire Kingdom Service Centers and  NTB Tire & Service Centers, and franchise brands Big O Tires and Midas, along with many companies around the world adopted new ways of working brought on by the pandemic.

The organization, headquartered in Palm Beach Gardens, took this opportunity to reimagine their office space reflecting a commitment to hybrid work and accommodating associates who work remotely. This provided an opportunity to re-home solid wood furniture – desks, credenzas, wall units, filing cabinets, conference room tables and chairs – which was donated to several local nonprofits, including Wounded Veterans Relief Fund (WVRF), Adopt-A-Family and Boys and Girls Club.

“Wounded Veterans Relief Fund is grateful and excited to receive this amazing furniture donation from TBC. Our office furniture desperately needed an upgrade. Thank you!” stated Mike Durkee, Executive Director for WVRF whose mission is to provide emergency financial assistance and professional services to qualified Florida disabled veterans in order to save lives and keep families together.

WVRF was founded in 2009 and has proudly built a history and reputation for placing veterans first. During October 2021 alone, the organization was able to assist 54 veterans and 107 of their spouses and children providing assistance for housing, emergency vehicle expenses and dental assistance across the state of Florida.

“A huge thank you to TBC Corporation for such a generous contribution,” said Adopt-A-Family CEO Matt Constantine. “This donation of office furniture is a big help to our agency and ultimately our mission.”

Adopt-A-Family of the Palm Beaches’ mission is to support families with children in their efforts to achieve stability and self-sufficiency by providing access to all-encompassing services. To achieve its mission, the agency provides an emergency shelter, 112 housing units, rental assistance, case management, afterschool care for elementary school students, mental health services, and job coaching.

Furniture was also donated to three Boys & Girls Clubs centers in Riviera Beach, replacing pieces that needed to be refreshed. Project Fathers And Children Together (FACT) is a Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County program that helps fathers become more involved in their children’s lives and also helps to strengthen relationships in the community.

Project FACT Manager, Shamus Gordon said, “Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County’s Project FACT is grateful for the generous donation of office furniture from TBC. It’s such partnership between for profit and not for profit organizations that help to strengthen the social fabric of local community. Thanks, TBC for your contributions!” said Shamus Gordon, Program Manager.

The donation aims to support TBC’s corporate social responsibility (CSR), an integral component of the corporation and all business units spanning retail, franchise, wholesale, distribution and ecommerce. Delivering on one of the company’s core values – leave everything better, TBC re-homed office furniture with a replacement value of approximately $30,000.

“We feel strongly about supporting our local communities,” said Brian Maciak, EVP, General Counsel & Chief Compliance Officer of TBC Corporation, who oversees social responsibility. “We are thrilled to promote sustainability by extending the useful life of our furniture while helping these non-profit organizations accommodate growth and the services they provide by furnishing their spaces.”

Florida Intergenerational Orchestra live Holiday Concert

0

Boca Raton, Florida-On Sunday, December 12th, 3:00 P.M. The Florida Intergenerational Orchestra, the orchestra for everyone, will perform its first concert of this season after an 18 month hiatus, at O’Shea Hall on the grounds of Our Lady of Lourdes Church,
22094 Lyons Road, Boca Raton 33428. Entitled “Home for the Holidays” the concert will feature music that will remind you of what it felt like to sit by the fire in snowy weather, or for native Floridians, to sit by a fire pit and avoid falling fronds and coconuts. We inspire the next generation of musicians and audiences in Florida and beyond with innovative educational concert programs for all ages.

Listen to favorites like “White Christmas,” and The Christmas Waltz and enjoy the sounds of the holiday season while also enjoying our award winning dance team led by Gabrielle Ugas and Claudia Concha.

And Elmar Oliveira,of Lynn Conservatory, one of the foremost violinists of our time will receive the Orchestra’s Lifetime Achievement Award, celebrating his work in developing young artists in their musical and career development for the future of music. Two of his students, Kayla Bryan, and Benjamin Kremer will perform the first movement of the Bach Double Concerto with the orchestra. This beautiful piece is a must for every classical music enthusiast.

There will be many other favorites providing a compelling reason for all our fans and our new friends to “get yourself to the Church on time.”

There is a rumor going around that a special visitor from the North Pole may unexpectedly arrive.

This remarkable orchestra comprised of musicians spanning the ages of 15 to 90 has over the past 15 years delighted audiences. The gifted and award winning conductor, Lorraine Marks-Field, deftly blends the different abilities of the members of the orchestra. Florida Intergenerational Orchestra concerts are engaging and fun for the whole family; everyone leaves with a smile and has a great time.

Because of Covid 19 the orchestra could not hold live concerts for the past year and a half. To help raise funds the orchestra came up with the idea of creating painted violins using the many talents of some fantastic artists in the South Florida Community. Fiddlershop.com donated 10 violins and one viola to the orchestra and the arts community stepped up and created gorgeous violins that can be purchased or auctioned at a fundraiser. Come to the concert and see some of these marvelous and valuable works of art painted by Yaacov Heller, Duaiv, Larry Dinkin, Mary Lou Gladstone, Roger Spott, Sari Padorr, Daniel Konis, Vanesa Toboada , Yung McCollum, and Alissa Zemering. Any one of these painted violins would make a great addition to your living room or art collection.

There is always an exciting raffle with great prizes at the concerts, so in addition to bringing the family, bring some cash or a check to purchase raffle tickets.

Tickets are $15 for adults, children 12 and under are FREE. Tickets are available at the door—cash or check please. $25 VIP tickets, First two rows can be reserved in advance by calling 561-922-3134.

Wellington, Florida. December 2th, 2021 – Limitless Medical Logs® Founder, Jordan Lexi Ray today announced her drastic career change due to a cancer scare. Jordan Ray’s story is one of determination and accomplishment. After an unexpected black out on the softball field in 2015 at 17 years old, Jordan Ray lost her flourishing 13-year athletic career, scholarships and her health all in one afternoon.  The blackout led to a rare diagnosis of Chiari Malformation, a 10-hour long brain surgery and week-long stay in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at Palms West Hospital in Loxahatchee, Florida.

All of this came a month after Jordan’s mother, Robin Ray beat breast cancer. During this time, 16 years old Jordan saw the need for better patient-doctor communication.  Jordan, now in her mom’s shoes fighting for her health and living the need for better patient-doctor communication, Jordan launched our all-in-one paper medical journals and digital app at 19 years old. (www.LimitlessMedicalLogs.com) ”I knew I had to turn this negative into a positive to help others.” Ray said.

No one foresaw the pandemic of 2020 -2021. The disruptions and deaths caused people to realize that a good tomorrow is not assured. In addition to this chaotic, depressing time, Jordan faced a cancer scare. After a year’s worth of blood work, scans, and doctor appointments in a pandemic she was scheduled for a surgery to check for Lymphoma & Leukemia.

The possibility of having a life-threatening diagnosis made Jordan realize that life could be short.  She had always harbored a quiet passion and hoped to have the opportunity to make this dream come true.

Fortunately, the pathology report came back negative. This close call compelled Jordan to immediately implement her plan to go into real estate. Real estate is in her blood, Jordan at a young age fell in love with imagining what can be built on a piece of land. She comes from a family of realtors, home builders, architects, and developers.  So, becoming a Realtor® is just the first step for this young woman on her journey to ultimately becoming a home builder and large-scale developer.

Royal Palm Beach Resident Helps Refugee and Immigrant Children Have a Magical Holiday Season

ROYAL PALM BEACH, FL –  Maria Landron, the Royal Palm resident who led The Village of Royal Palm Beach through a historical Census response, has kicked-off a holiday toy drive to benefit local refugee and immigrant children.

The 22-year-old who was named one of Palm Beach Atlantic University’s Women of Distinction scholars earlier this year said “I remember my first Christmas in the United States. It can be so difficult for families who come here with nothing, or who are forced to leave their homes. A lot of kids who migrate, especially under excruciating circumstances, grow up too soon. Every child deserves to experience being a kid and receiving a toy to play with can help with that.”

Landron’s goal is to collect over 500 toys, clothing items, and other gifts for children. The drive is being completed in partnership with PBA CKI, a college service-leadership organization supported by the West Palm Beach Kiwanis Club

A majority of the toys will be donated to the Esperanza Community Center, serving the Northwood area of West Palm Beach. The facility serves over 100 children and their families during the holiday season. The center’s services include adult literacy, English as Second Language classes, education on wage theft prevention, and immigration experts. Throughout the pandemic, Esperanza worked to educate workers and their families about how to stay safe, and has vaccinated over 300 migrants in West Palm Beach.

To donate to the toy drive please visit the Amazon wishlist. Those interested in supporting the Esperanza Community Center can donate on the nonprofit’s website

ABOUT ESPERANZA COMMUNITY CENTER:

Esperanza offers 7 programs, focusing their work on adult education, wage theft, food and nutrition, and healthcare.
