Eau Palm Beach’s Chef Manlee Siu Hosting Mango Tours with Oceanside Picnics

EAU PALM BEACH RESORT & SPA INTRODUCES IMMERSIVE CULINARY EXPERIENCE WITH LOCAL MANGO FARM

In Celebration of Mango Season, Chef Manlee Siu Leads Local Excursion That Showcases Over 70 Varieties of the Tropical Fruit Through a Farm Tour, Tasting, Private Oceanfront Picnic and More

PALM BEACH, FLA. – Inspired by the more than 70 varieties of mangos grown by local farmers, Manlee Siu, Chef de Cuisine of Angle at Eau Palm Beach Resort & Spa, has designed an immersive culinary experience dedicated to the versatile stone fruit. In partnership with Truly Tropical Fruit Farm, located in Delray Beach, Florida, the Mango Farm Tour experience will include exclusive touches that range from: private access and guided farm tour; mango tastings; hand picking in the scenic orchard, and an oceanfront private dining experience featuring unique preparations by Chef Siu of the ingredient of the day.

The Mango Farm Tour Experience begins in the morning at the resort’s Temple Orange Mediterranean Bistro, with a light breakfast of coffee and mango filled croissants. Guests then accompany Siu for a short ride in a luxury house car to Truly Tropical Fruit Farm. Founded over 100 years ago, Truly Tropical’s trees are located on a five acre sand ridge, an ideal area to grow the tropical fruit.

Upon arrival to the farm, Owner Chris Wenzel will give an overview of the farm and discuss the 70 different varieties of mangos growing this season. Chris and Chef Siu will then guide guests through an educational and delicious mango tasting, where participants can taste the eccentric and unexpected mango flavors that grow on the farm, including Cotton Candy, Fruit Punch, Lemon Meringue, Ugly Betty and Royal Purple. Before departing, guests will have the opportunity to explore the five acres of tropical fruit to pick their favorite varieties to enjoy at home.

“Prior to moving to Palm Beach, I only knew of three different types of mangos and was sincerely shocked to learn that more than 70 varieties were growing right here in our backyard,” said Manlee Siu. “Working closely with Chris Wenzel and Truly Tropical Fruit Farm has introduced me to the vast spectrum of the mango world and we’re all thrilled to share this discovery with guests of Eau Palm Beach.”

Upon arrival back at the resort, Siu will prepare a private, mango-inspired picnic lunch served by Chef Siu in one of the resort’s airy and newly redesigned oceanfront cabanas. Guests will be welcomed to the cabana with a freshly made mango margarita from the resort’s brand new Margarita Cart. The menu includes a bottle of Rosé, House Made Charcuterie, Lobster Salad and a mango infused dessert.

The Mango Farm Tour Experience is priced at $600 per/couple, requires reservations and is based on availability. For more information or to reserve the culinary experience, call 561-540-4850.

Happy June and Happy Father’s Day!

At Fort Myers Beach

Happy June!

I hope you’re having a great start to the summer.  To all the fathers Around Wellington, I wish you a Happy Father’s Day.

As I write this, I’m headed out for our annual trip to Fort Myers Beach.  This is a lovely time spent swimming, reading, playing, collecting sea shells, finding starfish and watching beautiful sunsets paint the sky.  I can’t wait!

This month we introduce you to an amazing non-profit organization called Silvie Bells.  Named after her daughter Silvie, Jennifer Smith decided it was time to bring some cheer to the NICU during the holidays.  After the intense experience she and her husband Caleb had, she realized that there are a lot of things you need to make it through the holidays when you’re camped out in the NICU.  See our “AW Spotlight” story.

We also have our first ever advertiser networking meeting this month.  This is a chance for our advertisers to support each other and talk about what their business does best.  If I haven’t said so lately, please support our advertisers.  You’ll see them on the top and the right of the website, as well as listed in the weekly eNewsletter.

I’m grateful to our writers and photographers, who fill these pages with great content every month.  Scroll through and check out all of the articles.

Thanks again to marketing manager Damon Webb for coordinating free donut day earlier this month. We aim to please.  Thanks to the two Dunkin Donut locations and owners Angela and Andy, who partnered with us.

Here’s wishing you an excellent month – whether you’re finding starfish (like I will be doing), snorkeling, surfing or just hanging Around Wellington.

Cheers,

Krista
