February, 2016- POP ARTIST NICOLE GALLUCCIO FEATURED DEMONSTRATOR FOR THE WELLINGTON ART SOCIETY

The Wellington Art Society will feature local pop artist Nicole Gallucci at their February 10, 2016 meeting at Bootz Culture Art Center, 420 State Road 7, Suite 118. Meet and greet wil begin at 6:30, followed by a member spotlight and a brief meeting. The main attraction will be a demonstration by Nicole Gallucci with a wonderful raffle to end the evening.

Nicole has been painting and creating her pop art in South Florida for 20 years. She graduated with a BFA in Studio Art from Florida Atlantic University and began creating her own unique style. Her paintings combine 60s mod fashion and style, comic, music and media tabloids and spinning them into a visual explosion of color against a black and white paper collage background.

She has always been fascinated with the outrageous headlines in tabloid magazines and the exploitation of celebrities and contrasts it with something beautiful in nature: something vibrant and inviting vs. dark and absurd. She often includes headlines and wording that exemplify her emotions as related to that experience. Nicole is constantly evolving and continues to experiment with her technique, beginning to use imagery from other sources, including old children’s books and vintage Life magazines .

She has exhibited at the Cultural Council of Palm Beach County, Continuum Annual Pop Up Art Exhibition, Boca Museum of Art Artist’s Guild and several other local galleries. Her most recent pieces being shown at Continuum 2016 depict the emotions we feel when falling in love, “Falling In” and further experiencing a deeper connection, “Falling Deeper”.

The Wellington Art Society is a non-profit charitable organization In its 35th year. It is open to artists of all mediums and patrons of the arts, allowing both local and regional artists to display their art work in local galleries, interact with other artists and serve the community through. their art.
